The Sermon on the Plain (7) Fruit (Luke 6:43-45)

How are we doing? How is our growth as disciples? The best way to self-evaluate is to examine our lives and see what we are producing. Just as a fruit tree produces fruit and a rotten tree putrefaction, our lives will produce what we are cultivating within us. If we claim to be followers of Jesus, but our lives look nothing like Him, we must ask ourselves why. If we are a source of conflict and toxicity in our relationships, we might reconsider what we are doing. People who trust and follow Jesus are not going to be perfect. However, they should resemble Him more and more as time goes by. This is what discipleship and Christianity is all about; becoming more like Jesus.
