Joel: The Context, Doom, Next Level! (2:1-11)
Joel returns to the description of the invading locusts, describing their awesome, fearful power and comparing them to an invading army. This passage parallels 1:2-12, but with more intensity and doom:

(2:3-5) the plague is described like a fire consuming the land
