what of the night?

how much longer will we have to
stay hidden?
how long will the danger prolong?

when will the sign, the all-clear
be given?
when will we all again see the light?

where are the monsters?
they’re not out there roaming
they’re here in the shelters
both peril and fright

morning comes but also the night
if you want an answer ask again and again
don’t look in the mirror
and try not to bite
