A List Describing the God-Pleasing Life (Hebrews 13)
Let brotherly love continue.
Show hospitality to strangers.
Remember those imprisoned for the faith.
Honor marriage vows.
Be content.
Follow good leaders.
Do good and share what you have.
Obey your leaders.
This is a straightforward and obvious list. There are a couple of interesting items though. We are to show good hospitality because we never know when we will entertain those sent to us from God. We are to guard against strange teaching. Sometimes, staying true to the truth we have learned will make us unpopular with the culture around us. We will be like outcasts—like Jesus who was rejected by the world. We can hold fast to the truth, knowing that our home is not in the present culture.
Heed the exhortations of Hebrews.
