The New Sacrifice is Superior to the Old Sacrifice. (Hebrews 10:1-18)

The writer of Hebrews explains further, perhaps repeating himself unnecessarily. However, the subject matter is important enough, and difficult enough, that it is needed. The old covenant sacrifices were never enough. They were never the solution to our problem. They merely were there to point the way to the real solution. Where sinful men offered non-human blood to cover human sin, Jesus has now offered perfect, obedient human blood—His own sinless sacrifice—to cover all our sin. Where the priests stood in service again and again daily, year after end with no ceasing and no end to sin, Jesus has sat down at the right hand of God, His task fulfilled and completed. We no longer follow a law written on paper trying to fulfill a life beyond our ability. We are growing in faith following the law of love as God indwells our hearts. We are forgiven and able to please God in His power, with His help.
