Bruise

she hates that you jump to conclusions
that she’s maimed, covered in contusions
it is what she prefers
getting off on her hurts
feeling pain is her happy delusion

our collective cultural insanity
holds truth for wrong and denies harsh reality
whatever you do
don’t insist on the truth
at all costs protect everyone’s vanity
