Don't Drift! (Hebrews 2:1-4)

Since the revelation and message that Jesus has brought is so much greater than what came with the previous messengers and angels, we need to keep it in mind. The writer here warns that we should not “drift away” from the gospel. We should not “neglect” it. To which a lot of readers would say, “As if! How I am going to neglect the gospel?” But we are always in danger of that neglect. Even as we busy ourselves about “the faith.” We can become so preoccupied in the “deeper” things of the faith, in theology and all the things we can know, that we forget to dwell upon the core of our belief. We are prone to neglecting the gospel story.

So, Hebrews here gives us the first of several exhortations and admonitions: 1. Do not drift away from thinking about the gospel!
