Top Anticipated Films of 2021
After a year of cancelations and limited cinema availability, 2021 is up in the air for film. In the off chance that we get to start seeing new films again, here is a chronological list of 24 Films I am anticipating on the schedule…
No Man’s Land
This looks like an interesting examination of the immigration conundrum.
The Little Things
A neo-noir serial killer hunt movie that was developed for Spielberg, but ultimately too dark.
The Mauritanian
A controversial story that examines the possibility that our government might have not been as good as we would hope.
The Courier
A cold war spy thriller.
Blithe Spirit
This looks like a fun comedy.
Raya and the Last Dragon
One of just two animated films on my list this year. I’m not sure I want to see Ghibli do computer animation.
No Time to Die
The first of several carry-overs for last year.
A Quiet Place II
I need to revisit the first one, but I’m not sure the concept can sustain a second dip.
Last Night in Soho
Edgar Wright always piques my interest.
Black Widow
I was excited to see this last year, now I feel like I just need to check it off.
Godzilla vs Kong
I know better than to get interested in this after the last Godzilla, but I can’t help myself.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
I like these films the way that I like a roller coaster. But the period nature of the series has added another level of appreciation.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Destined to fail?
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
I’m ready to see Marvel try some different stuff. Will they?
The Green Knight
I’ve never read the Green Knight legends, but might ought to.
The Suicide Squad
Can James Gunn succeed with DC too?
Candyman
The original was smart, scary, philosophical story.
Death on the Nile
This might be my favorite Christie story. But can it do any better than Ustinov?
The Bad Guys
Another intriguing, animated offering. Will they do it in black and white?
Dune
My most anticipated film of 2020 remains at the tippy-top of my list for this year.
