The 27th Best All-Time Film(s)

Pixar Films
(8th Post 1998) Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story 3 (2010)
(9th Post 1998) Inside Out (2015), The Incredibles (2004), Ratatouille (2007), Up (2009), Monsters Inc. (2001), Finding Nemo (2003), Wall-E (2008)

OK. So, the biggest cheat in this whole list of lists in my 27th all-time film. Not a film, but nearly all the output of a single studio over the course of a decade. Pixar in the naughts was nearly an example of how to make parfect films. Much like Disney in the 50s and 60s, these are not children’s films, they are human films. Over and over again Pixar told compelling stories that had something to say. More than entertain, they inform. Whether it is the meditations on purpose and meaning in the Toy Story films, the examination of what makes us human in Inside Out and Wall-E, or the deep exploration of relationship and family in The Incredibles, Ratatouille, or Finding Nemo, Pixar always had something important to contribute.
