Luminescence
I saw him bounding through
My narrow headlight beams
As I encountered him
On desolate roads today
Dragging his pillow along
Behind him and it gleamed
Reflecting shines and dims
Of salt and pepper grey
He turned and met my eye
A gaze that did perplex
And glow that haunted me
Quite how I cannot convey
Realized did I he was
Phantasmal Mister X
And now I clearly see
Such lights begin to fade
Away as ghosts of thought
Too soon forgotten dreams
Creation fine-tuned hymn
Darkened and marred decay
(Poetry Scales 121)
