Minimalist-Mentally-Vacant?
Whenever I return to my beloved “home away from home” country, I always anticipate and am entertained by the things that cause me to do a double-take. This time around, it was this waste-of-space piece of bric-a-brac. The next day, I saw another one; only this time it was chalkboard instead of wood.
What is the point of a globe that is blank? Does someone say, “You know, I really love globes; I just wish I could have one that conveys zero information?” It is a sad aspect of American culture that we so value style and décor over substance and meaning.
Or, maybe this is the new, honest representation of U.S. geographic education.
