Demure

if you don’t have anything good to say
you know the rest
it behooves you to play
above the rest; be mature
out of gutters; demure
increase humanity and decency

but in a world where indecency reigns
sometimes the best
thing’s to enter the fray
not with curses or speaking in kind
but opposing bigots, bullies, and little minds
with blitzing and roaring, not quiescency
