Parenthood

The one thing in life,
That lives up to the hype,
Unlike birthdays, graduation,
Adulthood and even
The passage from couple
To spouse,
The moment of birth,
The first glimpse of those eyes.
Life will never be the same,
Feelings never as tame.
From this day forth,
I have a child.
